As 02 (Myler's no-pinch ISM version of French Link) but with port.
Acts on tongue and corners of bars, gently wrapping the lips. The port gives more tongue relief when the bit is not engaged by rider.
Level Two - ideal for an intermediate horse and also for many beginners. Encourages the horse to bend, balance and relax at the poll. The 04 will take a horse further than MB02 or a traditional snaffle due to greater tongue relief.
Design: Using two reins, the Pelham is a combination between a D ring and straight shank.
The Pelham has three rings on the shank: the top ring is for the headstall and curb chain, the center D ring for the first rein and the bottom ring is for the second rein.
Operates as both a direct action and leverage bit using a curb strap or chain. With pressure on the first rein, it works as a direct action bit, exerting the same amount of pressure on the mouth as on the reins. With pressure on the second or bottom rein, it works as a leverage bit, tilting the mouthpiece forward and applying pressure to the parts of the mouth, curb and poll.
Patented bushing system which allows the shank to turn independently of the mouthpiece, purchase and headstall.
The Comfort Snaffle Low Port Mouth Piece is a curved mouthpiece with low ported centre barrel.
This bit puts pressure on the tongue and the corners of the bars. Collapses slightly on the lips. Will not pinch bars or tongue. No palate pressure. Offers some tongue relief before restricting tongue. Each side of the mouthpiece moves independently.
Level: Two
Usage/Solution for: The Myler Low Port Comfort Snaffle is a good choice for a beginning or intermediate horse. Working off the lips, bars and tongue, it encourages the horse to relax at the poll by offering tongue relief before restricting the tongue. Independent Side Movement allows the rider to isolate one side and lift a shoulder. A good alternative to the traditional snaffle, the MB 04 works well for bending and encourages the horse to relax at the poll.
